POPULISM

Many popular philosophies claimed that masses being on a same page results in constructive progression of a society. Most   politicians insist this claim to be absolutely true and highly associated with politics. They argue that a decision supported by a majority is more likely to be correct than going other way.

Though, history on the other hand tells a different story. Let’s take different preexisting scenarios in consideration, nationalism in Nazi Germany of 1940’s was a popular sentiment of masses in Germany, which ultimately led them to mass extermination followed by roughest patches German history ever experienced. In another scenario, a populist thought of communism in Russia led them to their global isolation in late 20th century and a long lasting cold war, which halted their economic growth. If not for that downfall we would have known a Russia at par with the USA in present.

In other popular episodes Galileo Galilei was convicted and imprisoned  for having a belief that it is earth which rotates around sun and not the vice-versa also Giordano Bruno was burnt alive for his adherence to belief that earth is round, both of them were convicted of  going against the popular faiths of then.

Mathematical observations also doesn’t seem to be favoring  the claims made by philosophies. Probability theory  through Gaussian  distribution curve, which separates the best from masses by a large margin or to be exact the  less the better  can be easily inferred through it.

With increasing populism in the country the real quest arises whether it is really for the greater good or just a bait to please  masses. If not for  real, this fakeness can lead us to our rock bottom.
